BBNAIJA day 9 highlights; Boma wins Head of House as White Money got nominated for eviction

 BEATRICE IN THE FIRING LINE

Following the revelation that Pere and Maria are the Wildcards, an unlikely candidate is receiving the full brunt of the Housemates’ collective disappointment.

Turns out many of the Housemates are angry at Beatrice for having given the impression she was about to stand up, when Ebuka asked the real Wildcards to rise to their feet for the big reveal, during last night’s Live Show.

Everyone thought Beatrice was getting ready to stand up, but the real Wildcards, Maria and Pere, did instead. When confronted in the bedroom by Angel after the Live Show, Beatrice said she was merely adjusting her jacket, and wasn’t preparing to stand up.

Angel seemed riled up and told Beatrice giving the impression she was about to stand up, was not cool.

Arin and Saga were also offended by Beatrice, with the former calling her “trash” for trying to “sabotage the Task” and the latter calling her “a fool”. Yikes!

Liquorose on the other hand, had a talk with Beatrice in the bedroom and told her to be strong. “Nobody has the right to make you sad about yourself. Don’t always feel like people are coming for you”.

Beatrice went on another apology tour and gave Arin and Saga a hug in the kitchen. Arin accepted it but rolled her eyes behind her back during the hug.

BOMA, THE NEW HEAD OF HOUSE

Boma has emerged as the new Head of House for the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye Season in a keenly contested ‘Game of Balls’. He won’t be running the House alone; he has appointed Jackie B as his Deputy Head of House. Boma takes over from Peace and becomes the second Shine Ya Eye HoH.

This ‘Game of Balls’ wasn’t too different from the last one they played. The only things that changed were the obstacles. The Housemate had to roll a ‘six’ from the ‘Start’ position immediately after the buzzer went off. The game had six coloured stickers randomly placed on its steps, and each colour represented an obstacle that players had to overcome until they reached the end zone

The first Housemate to go was Saga, but he ended up starting the course late and barely making it through because rolling a six was challenging for him. The same fate befell Angel, Whitemoney, Nini, Tega, Jaypaul, Princess, Pere, Liquorose, Maria and Saskay. While Jackie B had a fortunate break early on with a 'Six,' she couldn't overcome the obstacles she faced. Sammie, Princess, Yerins, Niyi, Arin, Cross, Beatrice, Yousef and Emmanuel had the same fate too. Boma was the most fortunate. He got an early start and was able to make it the farthest. Only Niyi was able to come a close second.

As the winner of the HoH Challenge, Boma gains Immunity from the week’s possible Eviction, at the same time gaining exclusive access to the Head of House lounge for the week. He gets to enjoy all this luxury with his Deputy, Jackie B.

Boma is the second Head of House and with Peace setting the bar, he has huge shoes to fill. Shine Ya Eye BBNaija Fam and be on the lookout for how he handles this Task.

THE FIRST NOMINATION OF THE SEASON

It’s been the question on everybody’s mind since the Housemates totally failed to get anywhere close to identifying the two Wildcards – how would Maria and Pere be treated by those they had so recently – and spectacularly – duped?

Of course, it was not just them who had something about which to be worried. Liquorose and Jaypaul would have been less than one hundred percent confident in their chances of getting through the first Nomination session of the season since they were thought to be the two Wildcards. They weren’t, but the vote suggests that at least some of the Housemates were hoping that they might get lucky on two counts – correctly identify the two Wildcards and get rid of unwanted Housemates

Beatrice and Yerins might also have been a bit concerned, since they were the two Housemates hot on the heels of the Wildcard vote leaders, except – of course – they didn’t know that. We did, though, and it was that little bit of what literary academics like to call “dramatic irony” that made tonight’s Nominations anything but a fait accompli.

It started as it always does – Big Brother’s booming baritone beckoning the bewildered Housemates to the Diary Room (and toward some needless alliteration). There, one by one, the Housemates were required to put somebody’s head on the block, ready for the chop.  And... that's where the predictability stopped, because when we say, "one by one", we should actually say, "one and then the other".  Only two Housemates were called into the Diary Room - the two former Wildcards.

Maria and Pere were informed that they would have four nominations, each, and that they would be the only Housemates doing any nominating at all. This, of course, gives them an incredible edge - they get to decide who is up for nomination, without their votes being watered down by those of the other Housemates, and they are guaranteed to be safe at the next Eviction.

On the other hand, since nobody else got to nominate anybody, the nominated Housemates know exactly who to blame for their situation.  It seems that Maria and Pere are not out of jeopardy, just yet.  The Housemates who have Maria to thank for their current predicament are Beatrice, Jaypaul, Whitemoney and... Jannis – that last one doesn't exist, in the House.  After more than a week, she didn't know that his name was "Yerins".  No wonder he made the list.

Pere's list of nominees includes Beatrice, Yerins, Niyi and Whitemoney.  So – it turns out that Beatrice and Yerins were on the block, despite only the Wildcards voting.  They must be chuffed. Both Maria and Pere also nominated Whitemoney – the Housemate they thought had the best chance of identifying them as the Wildcards.  Clearly, they've identified a threat.

"Housemates – the Nominations process is now complete."

Those words dropped like a bomb, as did the Housemates' realisation of the implications. All that was left was to identify the Housemates who were nominated: Beatrice, Yerins, Jaypaul, Niyi and Whitemoney. Boma - as Head of House – was offered the chance to use his position to veto one of the Nominations, and replace it with another. Thus was Jaypaul saved, and Yousef put in his place.  None of the other Housemates can know exactly who voted for them, except Yousef. This is probably going to be an awkward week.

It's now in your hands to save who you can.  Get voting, by clicking here!

BIG BROTHER NAIJA; DAY 7 HIGHLIGHTS

 THE JACUZZI PARTY

As a reward for an amazing stage play, the housemates got rewarded with a Jacuzzi Party and boy was it lit! They hit the Jacuzzi in their bikinis and trunks for the time of their lives. With the booze flowing and the grill going, there was no dulling the Housemates. This was exactly what they needed to let off some steam after all the hours they put into rehearsals.

Beatrice didn’t really look like she was in the mood to party initially. For the most part, she appeared quite sober and didn't budge when Princess asked her to join. Angel warned her that if she maintained that stance she might get Voted out if she got Nominated. Either that did the trick or her conversation with Boma, but not too long after she changed into a bikini and joined the Geng.

NINI AND PERE'S FIGHT

If we say we saw it coming, we would be lying. The Big Brother Naija House is officially consistently dishing us drama and qualms with one taking place between Nini and Pere after the Housemates’ sponsored Task.

It all started in the closet, with Nini loudly confronting Pere who exudes calm energy as we have seen him navigating the secret of him being one of the Wildcards. She was heard saying that Pere’s hands had been shaking during the ‘Drop the Stick’ Patricia Task Game, and he was failing to admit it

MORE MONEY, MORE DRAMA.

Big Brother announced a new twist to attending the Saturday Night Party. The Housemates will be required to pay an entrance fee and this wealth has made Emmanuel particularly popular. Emmanuel’s fortune is built on his luck with the 23rd Envelope, the added Abeg Naira from the collective Abeg Task Presentation, which he won by way of raffle.

Arin and Peace were the first to approach him during the Jacuzzi party, with Arin making it known he is the richest man in the House.

Maria and Angel couldn’t help but cosy up to the Housemate as he laid in bed and they flirted with him, with Maria going the extra mile to gently pat his head, while calling him all terms of endearment to get his attention.

THE FIRST SATURDAY NIGHT PARTY

As the search for the Wildcard intensifies, the fun does not stop. The evening began with a fun photoshoot sponsored by Tecno.

All poses came out as the Housemates turned to their head-turning swag which we first saw at the Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye launch show. The ladies also slaying, down to the face beat. There was even an outfit change from Beatrice who had started the night in a lovely short cream dress, a blonde wig and high heels and then switched back to her short hairstyle, a simple black top, denim shorts and boots. Emphasis on comfort, geng

The Housemates were looking extremely stunning giving us FOMO all the way from our screens. It was without a doubt that Liqourose would be seen doing the most, delivering some of her trendy dance moves on the floor. One particularly interesting character at the party was Cross the Hypeman. He was immediately in his element the moment they walked through the doors into the party. The temperature on the dance floor became too hot for Whitemoney and Saga who ended up shirtless

The two Wildcards are honestly playing their game right because the topic of the Wildcards dominated the House after the party. As if it never happened, the Housemates were fixed on figuring out who the imposters are and this is inevitably forcing the creation of cliques among the Housemates as they investigate their fate.

BIG BROTHER NAIJA SEASON 6; Day 6 Highlights

THE BONUS ENVELOPE

The highly contentious 23rd envelope with a substantial amount of money had the Housemates engaging in a rigorous discussion about how it would be rewarded to one of them. After a heated back and forth, the Housemates resolved to reward the bonus envelope by way of a lucky raffle.

The HoH took pieces of paper and wrote down the numbers with the hope that whoever made a lucky draw of the paper numbered '23' would be the lucky winner and the lucky winner was Emmanuel.

PERE WITH GAME FACE

The Housemate that we all now know as one of the two Wildcards remains unshaken, keeping his cool as the stress and tension builds up to find out who they are.

The Wildcards, Pere and Maria, were revealed to the world during the special Dairy Session. Many of you had your guesses right about Pere when the social media streets were buzzing with one question: “How did Pere know what happened in Oba?”.

AN IMPRESSIVE FIRST PERFORMANCE

After putting in work all week long, the Shine Ya Eyes Housemates finally thrilled us to their much-anticipated play. This musical theatrical play cut across different tribes, showcasing Nigeria’s cultural diversity in all its richness and grandeur was performed by all the Housemates. The presentation marked the completion of the first Abeg Task in the House.

Cross got the play started calling it “the greatest show ever” in his opening remark. Once the welcome address was out of the way, the Housemates took turns to the stage where they demonstrated the rich traditions and cultures of the various tribes in Nigeria in their musical dramas. Their play took them from the east to the west and from the north to the south, demonstrating the essence of their cultures. They ended their show by emphasizing the need for unity in spite of the diverse cultures.

Impressed by their performance, Biggie showered them with compliments as he congratulated them for a job well done. From Liquorose, whom he compared to a veteran actor, to Whitemoney, whose songs he mentioned helped elevate this musical from being interesting to captivating, and to Sammie, whom he said deserved applause and an award. To reward them, he threw a Jacuzzi Party for them and gave them Abeg Naira.

For a group of amateur artistes, the Shine Ya Eye Geng put on quite a stellar performance and we can’t wait to see more from them as the Show goes on. Hopefully, rehearsals and brainstorming sessions for future Abeg Tasks among the Geng won’t be as complicated as it was this time. As entertaining as it was to watch them go at each other during the early preparation stages, we think they can achieve more if they are less confrontational... or maybe that's just their winning formulae.

Big Brother Naija Season 6; DAY 5 Highlights

HOUSE RUNNING OUT OF FOOD

It’s only day four in the Big Brother Naija House and food is already a topic of discussion among the Housemates. Would it still be drama if the Housemates do not run out of food? Certainly not!

We have been seeing some delicious food moments on our screens, from Housemates frying up individual feasts for breakfast, to everyone snacking to their heart's content. But now, the Shine Ya Eye geng is running out of food supplies.

This was brought to House’s attention by Whitemoney, who is a permanent fixture in the kitchen. Whitemoney has taken up an honorary position as sous chef, and on any given day, you will find him cooking up a storm for everyone.

HOUSEMATES RECEIVED THEIR FIRST ABEG NAIRA CARD

The Shine Ya Eye Geng smiled to the bank today as they each received their first Abeg Naira as a welcome gift from Big Brother. The value of what they each receive is still a mystery as they can only open their sealed envelopes tomorrow.

The Housemates were asked to pick a stool from the 23 stools placed in front of them. On each stool was a sealed envelope containing different values of Abeg Naira. What this means is that some Housemates will end up richer than others.

This exercise almost started off chaotic despite Biggie’s warning that it be done in an organised manner, or they will end up being barred from picking and forfeit their Abeg Naira for the week. Fortunately, calm was immediately restored as Head of House, Peace insisted on doing it in an orderly fashion. Turn by turn, she asked each Housemate to go stand in front of the stool with the envelope of their choosing. Their envelopes will remain sealed until they are told otherwise. They do have complete freedom to swap or exchange envelopes with one another at any time before the big reveal tomorrow night. They’ve also been asked to guard and protect the seal on their envelopes. Any accidental opening or exposure of the contents of the envelopes will result in a stern punishment.

There was an extra tool left contained a special envelope with a substantial amount. With this envelope came a simple task for the House. They must all decide and gift the 23rd envelope to one deserving Housemate. The decision on whom the envelope is given cannot be made by the Head of House or Deputy. It is the responsibility of all the Housemates. They have been given until tomorrow night to make the decision and they are free to devise and use any means to determine the most deserving Housemate to receive the envelope. The envelope must always remain sealed as well and safe until tomorrow. If it gets missing the whole House will be in trouble.

The Housemates were soon engaged in a heated argument on how to award the bonus. While some insisted on a game of skill to give who was most deserving, others suggested a game of chance because that will ensure fairness. In the end, they settled for a vote and a game of chance was the outcome.

With this money, the Housemates now have spending power. In the meantime, Biggie has decided to be generous and allow them to have services they’d pay for free of charge till Sunday morning.

Maria’s entrepreneurial instinct has already kicked in as she announced services she was willing to offer other Housemates in exchange for Abeg Naira. Her proposed services include washing, cooking, ironing, and body massages for just 25 Abeg Naira every week. “Only thing you have to do is bath yourself and wash your teeth, every other thing is settled,” she said in her bid to build her clientele. in the House. She even went ahead to give a discount for the first week. Housemates can pay 20 Abeg Naira, but the entire offer ends at midnight. Seeing as Saga paid close interest, she might have a client soon.

THE REVEAL OF THE WILDCARDS

During the Task preparations last night, Pere, Cross, Maria and Jackie B tried to figure out who the Wildcards are. Pere mentioned asking Big Brother for clues during his Diary Room session but Biggie told him his Diary Session was over. He suggested everyone try to ask Biggie to give the House clues so they can get to the bottom of it. Cross on the other hand thinks it's Sammie because his story about how he got to the Big Brother House is a bit confusing. Saskay was also pointed out as a likely suspect based on the theory that this was her first time in Lagos.

The search also continued this morning with, Nini, Maria, Arin, Peace and Angel all gathered in a huddle this morning during the workout session to discuss the likely suspects. Without hesitation, they named a few Housemates and stated their reasons. A particular name that kept coming up was Jaypaul. They found his entry story a bit puzzling and wondered why after being dropped from the Show last year, he was able to make it back in again. They seem to think he might be one. Next on the list of the names was Beatrice. After playing a prank on them, they also seem to think she was overly trying to get in with the Geng.

READ NO FURTHER FAM!!!, it’s Maria and Pere. Maria and Pere have been revealed as the Wildcards of the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye House. After days of speculations and accusations in the House, the two were finally revealed after the Diary Room session where the Housemates were invited to make their predictions.

Both Wildcards did a good job of blending in with the rest of the Housemates in the House. For Maria, it was all about actively participating in the Task and making sure her voice is heard. Pere took a more laid-back approach in the House. Right from his bromance with the rest of the guys to casually having conversations with the rest of the Housemates and even on course to building a romantic alliance with Jackie B, he had his cover well secured. His military experience must have come into play here. On a few occasions, both Wildcards spearheaded conversations about who the possible Wildcards were and pointed out other Housemates as likely suspects. Talk about throwing people off your scent.

Maria was particularly surprised to find out there was another Wildcard in the House during her conversation with Biggie in the Diary Room. When asked if she knew who it was, she correctly guessed Pere. She was bothered that she had to lie and maintain a front with the other Housemates but she was confident she pulled it off. Pere on the other hand was glad when he heard the revelation of another Wildcard and guessed it was either Maria or Nini.

Pere guessed Maria as the other wildcard, Maria guessed Pere as the other wildcard. It can only take a thief to catch a thief.

keep an eye on the blog for more updates as the drama unfolds.

Big Brother Naija Season 6 Day 4 Highlights

THE FIRST TASK

The house mates got their fist task from biggie on Tuesday. HOH, Peace did not hesitate to take the honour of reading it out loud to the ears of her fellow housemates.

The task asks them to showcase Nigerian's Cultural Diversity in all its Richness and Grandeurs. There were clashes of ideas as expected. This made White Money and Maria took the house on a trip of exploring the rich Igbo tradition in preparation for their task. From the tradition, to the religious believe, they were able to break down everything the Igbo tradition entails.

Being the head of house, Peace made sure she was influenced by her name to get the team back on track. the housemates gathered in the garden to settle their differences ( caused from dishing out ideas to carry out the task successfully) and discussed how to carry out the task successfully.

THE FIGHT BETWEEN LIQOUROSE AND ANGEL

Later in the night, the housemates gathered to play charades. while at it, Liqourose and Angel blew out over charade. Angel was held back by White Money and Arin as it seems they want to start hitting each other. On the other hand, Liquorose doesn't take things lightly either

Maria tried to quench the beef between the two later but it leads to another chaos. Later, Liquorose was accompanied by Peace and Arin to where Angel was in other to let go of the beef. The two had a brief chat and hugged each other afterwards.

We hope the whole chaos brings an unforgettable presentation of their task
