BBNAIJA day 9 highlights; Boma wins Head of House as White Money got nominated for eviction

 BEATRICE IN THE FIRING LINE

Following the revelation that Pere and Maria are the Wildcards, an unlikely candidate is receiving the full brunt of the Housemates’ collective disappointment.

Turns out many of the Housemates are angry at Beatrice for having given the impression she was about to stand up, when Ebuka asked the real Wildcards to rise to their feet for the big reveal, during last night’s Live Show.

Everyone thought Beatrice was getting ready to stand up, but the real Wildcards, Maria and Pere, did instead. When confronted in the bedroom by Angel after the Live Show, Beatrice said she was merely adjusting her jacket, and wasn’t preparing to stand up.

Angel seemed riled up and told Beatrice giving the impression she was about to stand up, was not cool.

Arin and Saga were also offended by Beatrice, with the former calling her “trash” for trying to “sabotage the Task” and the latter calling her “a fool”. Yikes!

Liquorose on the other hand, had a talk with Beatrice in the bedroom and told her to be strong. “Nobody has the right to make you sad about yourself. Don’t always feel like people are coming for you”.

Beatrice went on another apology tour and gave Arin and Saga a hug in the kitchen. Arin accepted it but rolled her eyes behind her back during the hug.

BOMA, THE NEW HEAD OF HOUSE

Boma has emerged as the new Head of House for the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye Season in a keenly contested ‘Game of Balls’. He won’t be running the House alone; he has appointed Jackie B as his Deputy Head of House. Boma takes over from Peace and becomes the second Shine Ya Eye HoH.

This ‘Game of Balls’ wasn’t too different from the last one they played. The only things that changed were the obstacles. The Housemate had to roll a ‘six’ from the ‘Start’ position immediately after the buzzer went off. The game had six coloured stickers randomly placed on its steps, and each colour represented an obstacle that players had to overcome until they reached the end zone

The first Housemate to go was Saga, but he ended up starting the course late and barely making it through because rolling a six was challenging for him. The same fate befell Angel, Whitemoney, Nini, Tega, Jaypaul, Princess, Pere, Liquorose, Maria and Saskay. While Jackie B had a fortunate break early on with a 'Six,' she couldn't overcome the obstacles she faced. Sammie, Princess, Yerins, Niyi, Arin, Cross, Beatrice, Yousef and Emmanuel had the same fate too. Boma was the most fortunate. He got an early start and was able to make it the farthest. Only Niyi was able to come a close second.

As the winner of the HoH Challenge, Boma gains Immunity from the week’s possible Eviction, at the same time gaining exclusive access to the Head of House lounge for the week. He gets to enjoy all this luxury with his Deputy, Jackie B.

Boma is the second Head of House and with Peace setting the bar, he has huge shoes to fill. Shine Ya Eye BBNaija Fam and be on the lookout for how he handles this Task.

THE FIRST NOMINATION OF THE SEASON

It’s been the question on everybody’s mind since the Housemates totally failed to get anywhere close to identifying the two Wildcards – how would Maria and Pere be treated by those they had so recently – and spectacularly – duped?

Of course, it was not just them who had something about which to be worried. Liquorose and Jaypaul would have been less than one hundred percent confident in their chances of getting through the first Nomination session of the season since they were thought to be the two Wildcards. They weren’t, but the vote suggests that at least some of the Housemates were hoping that they might get lucky on two counts – correctly identify the two Wildcards and get rid of unwanted Housemates

Beatrice and Yerins might also have been a bit concerned, since they were the two Housemates hot on the heels of the Wildcard vote leaders, except – of course – they didn’t know that. We did, though, and it was that little bit of what literary academics like to call “dramatic irony” that made tonight’s Nominations anything but a fait accompli.

It started as it always does – Big Brother’s booming baritone beckoning the bewildered Housemates to the Diary Room (and toward some needless alliteration). There, one by one, the Housemates were required to put somebody’s head on the block, ready for the chop.  And... that's where the predictability stopped, because when we say, "one by one", we should actually say, "one and then the other".  Only two Housemates were called into the Diary Room - the two former Wildcards.

Maria and Pere were informed that they would have four nominations, each, and that they would be the only Housemates doing any nominating at all. This, of course, gives them an incredible edge - they get to decide who is up for nomination, without their votes being watered down by those of the other Housemates, and they are guaranteed to be safe at the next Eviction.

On the other hand, since nobody else got to nominate anybody, the nominated Housemates know exactly who to blame for their situation.  It seems that Maria and Pere are not out of jeopardy, just yet.  The Housemates who have Maria to thank for their current predicament are Beatrice, Jaypaul, Whitemoney and... Jannis – that last one doesn't exist, in the House.  After more than a week, she didn't know that his name was "Yerins".  No wonder he made the list.

Pere's list of nominees includes Beatrice, Yerins, Niyi and Whitemoney.  So – it turns out that Beatrice and Yerins were on the block, despite only the Wildcards voting.  They must be chuffed. Both Maria and Pere also nominated Whitemoney – the Housemate they thought had the best chance of identifying them as the Wildcards.  Clearly, they've identified a threat.

"Housemates – the Nominations process is now complete."

Those words dropped like a bomb, as did the Housemates' realisation of the implications. All that was left was to identify the Housemates who were nominated: Beatrice, Yerins, Jaypaul, Niyi and Whitemoney. Boma - as Head of House – was offered the chance to use his position to veto one of the Nominations, and replace it with another. Thus was Jaypaul saved, and Yousef put in his place.  None of the other Housemates can know exactly who voted for them, except Yousef. This is probably going to be an awkward week.

It's now in your hands to save who you can.  Get voting, by clicking here!

BIG BROTHER NAIJA; DAY 7 HIGHLIGHTS

 THE JACUZZI PARTY

As a reward for an amazing stage play, the housemates got rewarded with a Jacuzzi Party and boy was it lit! They hit the Jacuzzi in their bikinis and trunks for the time of their lives. With the booze flowing and the grill going, there was no dulling the Housemates. This was exactly what they needed to let off some steam after all the hours they put into rehearsals.

Beatrice didn’t really look like she was in the mood to party initially. For the most part, she appeared quite sober and didn't budge when Princess asked her to join. Angel warned her that if she maintained that stance she might get Voted out if she got Nominated. Either that did the trick or her conversation with Boma, but not too long after she changed into a bikini and joined the Geng.

NINI AND PERE'S FIGHT

If we say we saw it coming, we would be lying. The Big Brother Naija House is officially consistently dishing us drama and qualms with one taking place between Nini and Pere after the Housemates’ sponsored Task.

It all started in the closet, with Nini loudly confronting Pere who exudes calm energy as we have seen him navigating the secret of him being one of the Wildcards. She was heard saying that Pere’s hands had been shaking during the ‘Drop the Stick’ Patricia Task Game, and he was failing to admit it

MORE MONEY, MORE DRAMA.

Big Brother announced a new twist to attending the Saturday Night Party. The Housemates will be required to pay an entrance fee and this wealth has made Emmanuel particularly popular. Emmanuel’s fortune is built on his luck with the 23rd Envelope, the added Abeg Naira from the collective Abeg Task Presentation, which he won by way of raffle.

Arin and Peace were the first to approach him during the Jacuzzi party, with Arin making it known he is the richest man in the House.

Maria and Angel couldn’t help but cosy up to the Housemate as he laid in bed and they flirted with him, with Maria going the extra mile to gently pat his head, while calling him all terms of endearment to get his attention.

THE FIRST SATURDAY NIGHT PARTY

As the search for the Wildcard intensifies, the fun does not stop. The evening began with a fun photoshoot sponsored by Tecno.

All poses came out as the Housemates turned to their head-turning swag which we first saw at the Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye launch show. The ladies also slaying, down to the face beat. There was even an outfit change from Beatrice who had started the night in a lovely short cream dress, a blonde wig and high heels and then switched back to her short hairstyle, a simple black top, denim shorts and boots. Emphasis on comfort, geng

The Housemates were looking extremely stunning giving us FOMO all the way from our screens. It was without a doubt that Liqourose would be seen doing the most, delivering some of her trendy dance moves on the floor. One particularly interesting character at the party was Cross the Hypeman. He was immediately in his element the moment they walked through the doors into the party. The temperature on the dance floor became too hot for Whitemoney and Saga who ended up shirtless

The two Wildcards are honestly playing their game right because the topic of the Wildcards dominated the House after the party. As if it never happened, the Housemates were fixed on figuring out who the imposters are and this is inevitably forcing the creation of cliques among the Housemates as they investigate their fate.
